Unitards and a sore calf

Last weekend went well. I made it through my first Triathlon Club of San Diego race alright. I showed up pretty early to the race and everybody was getting set up at the transition area. About ten minutes before the race I took a look around and almost all the guys had stripped their clothes off and were standing there in the cold in brightly colored unitards. I am not sure if any of you people been in a situation where there are sixty guys surrounding you in unitards (and I don't want to know about it if you have), but it is a pretty wierd sight.

Once the gun went off these sixty unitard wearding triathletes started sprinting. I began with a nice, steady jog. I took a look around a few minutes later only to realize that I was surrounded by only women. All the unitards had taken off and left me with the slower women runners. Although I really didn't mind being surrounded by women even if it meant that I was in last place. I think only one guy finished behind me and he was limping and complaining about his "cramped calf" the whole time. Apparently he needed an excuse to come in when I did. I guess those unitards really work b/c they kicked my ass in the race.
I have the Bulldog bike race on Camp Pendelton this weekend. It is a 26 mile bike ride through the military base. Should be fun...
